Is the bravest one a fool
To first step out of line
And raise their head above the parapet
To let out a battle cry
Do fools rush in where angels fear
Is courage just a whim
To fight the condescending lot
Who are rotten from within
Do we cower if the odds are bad
Some rally against them all
Or rollover and play for dead
Like an audience to our fall
From birth to death we are told our place
To settle and be quiet
There's violence in the neighborhood
But we learnt to just deny it
Is the cause of this indifference
Or gossip of the crowd
As the shadow of oppression forms
It's silhouette has towered
Where the lie is truth and truth is lie
Opinions are dispensed
Till we turn on one and other
And our humanity descends
